Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology developed by Dolby Laboratories. It expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects. Following the release of Atmos for the cinema market, a variety of consumer technologies have been released under the Atmos brand, using in-ceiling and up-firing speakers.

Dispatcher (Former Employee) says

"I came to Atmos with high expectations. You learn quickly that it is a place full of petty issues and supervisor incompetence. The sups let bullying and other things go on as long as it was one of their favorite employees. Pay is nothing for all the work they expect you to do. Training is inadequate. They have high turn over for a reason. Cons: No work life balance/ lack of training/ too much responsivbility"

Service Technician (Former Employee) says

"Worst management I've ever seen. Complete hypocrisy from the very beginning as the culture is a joke. Supervisors are not held responsible for their poor leadership."

Customer Supportive Associate (Former Employee) says

"Atmos Energy was once a wonderful company to work for ,but throughout the years a lot of things changed. Taking calls and helping customers with their gas bills alwayswas a A+ for me. Just making sure you meet the customers needs and actually listen to the caller made things so much better. For the company they’re not at all family oriented and do not treat employees fair. Plus you have no sick days , so anytime you sis work it counts against you, does not matter the circumstance."

CSR - Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"Not good at all"

GIS Analyst (Former Employee) says

"Never again will I work for this company, They want robots not people, the work production requirements were constantly increased to be just out of reach. Cons: work production requirements"

Meter Technician (Current Employee) says

"Atmos Energy is a toxic working environment and I would not recommend this company to anyone. The management and workplace culture are not favorable unless you consistently "kiss-up" to the supervisors making the workplace unprofessional. Cons: Management, Coworkers, Policies, Workplace Atmosphere"

Confidential (Former Employee) says

"The company claims to have a positive culture, however the HR group doesn't follow this culture. They often conduct "witch hunts" and actively works to intimidate others within the company in attempts to hold power over them."

Meter Reader (Former Employee) says

"The workplace culture was to "Live Atmos Sprit" which no one does. The Corsicana office is, was, and will forever be the worst place I've ever worked. People are promised positions before they are posted. You don't get a chance when you apply for any postings because of the buddy system that is very strong. They already know who is going to replace the current supervisor before his position was posted. They only go through the motions of interviews to make it legal. You will never get any kind of true man to man appreciation for your work only a blanket appreciation. There is no true help from Construction to help read meters. They complain and slack off while they tell the Supervisor "they" got it done. If you try to say anything you are always wrong. Cons: Read Review"

Service Technician (Former Employee) says

"A typical day at work was long and hard. I learned to run very fast from dogs with big teeth. I lost 38 pounds from all the running around I did. Cons: Dog bites"

Meter Reader (Former Employee) says

"1.Reads residential, commercial and industrial customers gas meters. Records dial readings for billing purposes."

Sevice Technician 1 (Former Employee) says

"The people who work here are just here for themselves and don't care about anything else. The whole time working here I was treated as an outsider and there was only one or two people I worked with that was actually humane. I treated everyone professionally and never made any derogatory comments to anyone but I was treated like dirt. The supervisors are two-faced as well as the management at the Radford, Virginia location. Cons: N/a"

Senior Income Tax Accountant (Former Employee) says

"The corporate culture is awesome and benefits are great. As with anything, some departments follow the corporate culture and are excellently managed. Others, not so much. The income tax department was an awful experience. Met some wonderful people in some of the other departments during United Way bingo but not worth working all night to meet a deadline without advance warning and the day in-day out stresses inherent with high turnover rates in a small department of a large corporation. Either upper management is oblivious or they just don't care. Either way, leaving was the best thing that every happened to me! Cons: Poor Departmental Management"

Service Technician (Current Employee) says

"I was very excited to work for this company until I did. Management never has the answers to any questions. You are hired for one job but they make you do another. Job sucks"

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"I was very miserable here. They do no work with your schedule at all, and they are not family oriented as they claim to be. I almost got fired for missing work due to a very complicated pregnancy and they could care less. You better hope you never get sick, your kids never get sick, you never have life throw you any curveballs, because this company will replace you like you were never even there. The turn over rate is high for a reason here. And the stress rate was even higher."

CSR - Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says

"Everything they tell you when your 1st hired is an lie. Your just an number, I was pregnant with my daughter and when I went to the emergency room I thought I was going to loose her. They told me that they don't take doctor excuses. Cons: Being and CSR"

NOC / data center technician (Former Employee) says

"the company is changing for the worse. used to be a family, now you are just a number. if you are in with the right people, you can move up. if not, no chance for advancement."

GIS Technician (Current Employee) says

"This company is backward-thinking and unwilling to embrace the technology of today. Necessary direction and supervision was lacking. Coworkers were unknowledgeable and insolent. Leadership was unintelligent, reactionary, and blockheaded."

Customer Service Associate (Former Employee) says

"strict company to work for and may not be good for someone that is a single parent with young kids. focus on customers not employee oriented"

Gas Locator (Former Employee) says

"Long hours, good money. Management expects you to figure everything out while they sit behind a computer and slack off. Expect no training because they will throw you out to the birds. Cons: Lack of training, Poor Management, Poor Communication"

Meter Reader (Current Employee) says

"No room to move up, stuck as a meter reader for 3 years. Worked long hours and routes kept growing and when I asked for help they said to simply go faster. Cons: Long hours, bad conditions, bad customers"

Former Employee - Customer Service Specialist says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than 5 years Cons: High Turnover; Too Young & No Experiance for this type of work (In a couple years and out)"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than a year Cons: I had remove my degree from my resume to get the job, never got jobs I applied for with my degree. They only hire friends."

Former Employee - Manager says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time Cons: Either in or out based on management"

Former Employee - Tax Associate says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than 8 years Cons: Management in the Tax department is bad and the HR lady wouldn't listen to me, tried to paint me as a bad guy when I expressed how I felt. There are some toxic people in the department that will throw you under the bus."

Former Employee - Construction Department says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than 10 years Cons: they gave you alway low pay"

Former Employee - Manager says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time Cons: Management have lost their way and only care for bottom line. Former leadership built an amazing culture, but they have all been retired or moved on."

Former Employee - Engineer says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time Cons: - Disrespectful coworkers - Management is very passive - No documentation or process in place for anything. People just work there for a long time and know things and never document - Upper management is concerned about numbers and silly Atmos essentials training sessions that benefit no one - No proper training for new hires"

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than 5 years Cons: They are all about the numbers, they tell you they are family oriented but that is for supervisors and uppermanagentment They don't realize if it wasn't for the employees they wouldn't have satisfied customer. They say they are about customer experience but it's still a number game. If you have an illness or disability you get fired Upper management and suppervirs don't. The only way to advance is to kiss was or to be of some sort of diverse class. Your not recognized for your hard work."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at Atmos Energy full-time Cons: Nepotism, Good ol Boyz club, not enough Diversity in workplace."

Former Employee - Dispatcher says

"I worked at Atmos Energy full-time for more than 5 years Cons: Watch your back! Don't count on anything management tells you because it's likely to change in an instant. I was let go for being honest with management after over five years in the department. Management goes above and beyond to appease operations no matter the consequences to their dispatchers. Management will ALWAYS side with operations. Has misleading discipline policy. When hired they tell you that after you complete a "step" length of time (basically probation) that your record will be clean and no previous instances will be held against you. I'm here to tell you that couldn't be further from the truth."
